About the Author
Dr. Matthias Strohn was educated at the Universities of Muenster (Germany) and Oxford. Since 2006 he has been a lecturer in the Department of War Studies at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and in 2011 he was also made a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Buckingham. He holds a commission in the German army and is currently a member of the military attache reserve. He has published widely on 20th century German and European military history. More than a dozen leading historians from either side of the Atlantic have collaborated: Major Richard Winters (Ret), Dr Duncan Anderson, Ronald J Drez, Carlo D'Este, Dr Andrew Gordon, Dr Christina J M Goulter, Dr David I Hall, Professor Russell Hart, Dr Stephen A Hart, Professor Allan R Millett, Professor Williamson Murray, Professor Samuel J Newland and Professor Dennis Showalter.
