Description

A brand new board book edition for young readers!

A puffling has gone in search of adventure - now her puffin parents can't find her anywhere!

They talk to the seal and the gannet and the rabbit; they walk to the huts and the cliffs and the cove. They hear lots of stories of the puffling helping others, but they just cannot find their fluffy, black chick.

Finally, they spot her - on a boat out at sea!

The puffling is too small to fly home, so the animals of Skellig work together and come up with something very clever ...

About the Author
Erika McGann grew up in Drogheda, County Louth, and now lives in Dublin. She is the author of many books including The Demon Notebook (winner of the Waverton Good Read Children's Award), the 'Cass and the Bubble Street Gang' series. GERRY DALY is a children's author and illustrator living by the beautiful sea in Dublin. He hasn't seen any whales from his window, but saw many off the coast of West Cork. His previous books include the best-selling Where Are You, Puffling? and Wee Donkey's Treasure Hunt, both written by Erika McGann and also published by The O'Brien Press. He loves to paint birds and animals, from the tiniest to the biggest of them all.

Reviews

Just when you thought this cuddly little Puffling couldn't get any cuter, along comes a tiny board book format. Perfect for little hands to hold and practically indestructible, this makes an ideal gift for a baby or toddler ... adorable ... Where Are You Puffling? celebrates this rich natural landscape and is filled with fascinating and attractive animals that will appeal to the very young...This would make a wonderful souvenir for anyone visiting Ireland from abroad and would also be fabulous gift for Irish families living away from home. I can't imagine anyone not falling in love with Puffling!

a shortened, toddler friendly version of the original 'Where are You Puffling?' story set on Skellig Michael. This board book version is colourful, engaging and ideal for toddlers. The quality of the board is very durable and Gerry Daly's illustrations will really capture a toddler's attention. There are opportunities for readers to play 'spot the puffling' throughout the book with their young audience. The board book version is great to give to our youngest to handle when we are reading the original with her older brother. Before getting this book, she was constantly trying to turn the pages mid-sentence!! The size of the book is easy for her to grasp, and she enjoy trying to spot puffling on her own book.

a new toddler-friendly edition ... The story of the little puffling who gets lost on Skellig Michael is adapted and shortened for younger readers, but the charm of the original is retained, as the puffin parents scour the island in search of their offspring. A seal, a gannet, and a rabbit have all seen the puffling and point the parents on the right path around the skellig, but the fluffy black chick seems to have disappeared. Their search makes for a hide-and-seek of sorts through some of Ireland's most dramatic scenery, with the resident wildlife saving the day and ensuring a happy ending for the puffling and her parents

-- Evening Echo

absolutely sweet ... in a really good board book edition, could be read to a little one at bedtime

-- Sarah Webb on Newstalk's Pat Kenny

babies and toddlers will love pursuing a runaway puffin

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
