Description

Providing a precious glimpse into the real practice of the mystical life within the Sufi tradition, this volume marks the first time any of Ibn 'Arabi's prayers have been translated into another language. The 14 prayers include not only the most astounding expressions of devotion and contemplation, but also an unparalleled depth of knowledge of union. The very structure of the prayers is itself a mode of contemplation, making for a unique spiritual experience.

About the Author
Ibn 'Arabi was an eminent scholar and teacher of Islam in the Moorish culture of Andalusian Spain during the 12th century.

Pablo Beneito is a professor at the department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Seville. He has edited and translated three of Ibn 'Arabi's works, including Contemplation of the Holy Mysteries.

Stephen Hirtenstein is editor of the Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi Society Journal. His publications include Diving Sayings and The Unlimited Mercifier: The Spiritual Life and Thought of Ibn Arabi.

Reviews
An inspired enterprise . . . and formidable scholarship. The book serves very well as both a devotional aid and a lucid presentation of the doctrine of Ibn 'Arabi." -Terry Graham, Sufi Magazine

"A massive achievement . . . succeeds in bringing an immensely valuable and important work into English." -Jane Clark, Journal of the Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi Society

"Opens up new dimensions of profound Islamic spirituality to the non-Arabic reader." -Hyoun Kyoung Lee, London Bible College, Centre for Islamic Studies

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
