In The Map of Good Memories, a young girl takes time to remember her home before her and her family must flee their war-torn city.
Zoe had lived in the city since she was born. She knew every building, every park, every corner of the city. When the war broke out, Zoe, like many others, had to say goodbye to her home and leave without knowing when she might return. Zoe has so many good memories of her city. There was her grandparents' house, which was a shelter full of dreams and games, her old school where she met her friends and loved learning new things, and of course, the downtown park, where she'd spent many Sunday mornings there, playing on the swings, listening to people playing music, and riding her bike.
Just before her and her family leave, Zoe spreads the map of the city on a table and marks all the places where she was truly happy, with the certainty that they will always accompany her.
About the Author
Several years ago, Fran Nuno had the chance to parlay his passion for literature into 100% of his livelihood. He likes to say that he lives off the tales, since he really enjoys writing and telling his stories wherever he is invited to do so. Fran has already published more than 15 books, most of them for children and teenagers. He has been awarded several honorable mentions in important award categories, but he works with the same keenness of his very first day. Most important to his work is meeting his readers at schools, libraries, bookshops, and book fairs. He learns a lot from them and they, with their enthusiasm, inspire him to go on in this difficult but wonderful world of books. Of Polish origin, award winning Zuzanna Celej has a BA Honours in fine Arts at University of Barcelona and Majored in Illustration at the Llotja Art School in Barcelona. She has illustrated a number successful children picture books such as Moon's Messenger and The Lighthouse of Souls. She won Gold Medal as Best Illustrator at the 2013 Moonbeam Children's Book Awards. Jon Brokenbrow is an award winning translator with more than 60 children's books translated from Spanish - English. Winner of 2015 IPPY Award for Children's Picture Books with translation of Cyparissus by Marta Sanmamed, and winner of 2013/2014 International Latino Book Awards for Best Translator.
