Description

The long, hot summers spent on Fire Island have always been the highlight of the year for sisters Riley and Alice. Not least because it is there that they always see Paul: their next-door neighbour, Riley's best friend in all the world, and the only boy Alice has ever loved. Then Paul goes to university, and he leaves them both behind him.

Three years later, as Alice prepares to start Law School, Paul returns. The trick, he tells himself, is to have what he had without destroying it. But their world will change irresistibly, wonderfully and tragically, with every breath they take.

The highly-anticipated first adult novel from the bestselling author of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

About the Author

Reviews
'Assured and intelligent, with delicately handled heartache, this is a beautifully written book that will linger long after it's finished. Brashares fans will enjoy its considerable charms. In particular, she is adept at conveying the nuances of being grown up without knowing what that really means.' * News of the World *
'Ann Brashares's new book, THE LAST SUMMER (OF YOU & ME) will delight all of her Traveling Pants fans - now grown-up and ready for this very adult novel of love, loss and the beauty of intense family bonds.' * Anita Shreve *
'Ann Brashares has written a glorious novel of unrequited love, longing and the meaning of friendship in THE LAST SUMMER (OF YOU & ME). She weaves a tale full of delicious plot twists and revelations that will surprise and enthrall you. Riley and Alice are sisters, their relationship is as potent and complex as the real thing. Funny, deep and true, this one will keep you reading long after the sun has gone down.' * Adriana Trigiani *

'A compelling premise . . . steeped in the familiar longings for lost time that readers seeking the carefree pleasures of a summer will enjoy' * Kim Edwards, Washington Post *
'An unputdownable beach book calls for love, deceit, and sex. And THE LAST SUMMER (OF YOU AND ME) has all those elements. The page-turner follows two 20 something sisters as they cross the threshold into adulthood and try to make summer romance last all year.' * Cosmopolitan *

'The page-turning pace of Ann Brashares's THE LAST SUMMER (OF YOU & ME) makes it a perfect beach read.' * Redbook *
'Brashares' writing is natural, insightful, and affecting' * Entertainment Weekly *
'Make no mistake, THE LAST SUMMER (OF YOU & ME) is a weeper: if you don't grow misty there's something a bit shifty about the state of your heart. The novel is a vivid elegy for youth, and Brashares is wise as well as sentimental. She sagely remembers just how it feels to be young, lost and in love. * Miami Herald *
'Her storytelling talent wins out' * New York Post *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
