Reviews
The Knee: Reconstruction, Replacement, and Revision is a wonderful book that has been compiled expeditiously so as to be current and relevant. All chapters are written by international experts in the field, and these experts all have published experience with their topic. As such, the book focuses on evidence-based information. Chapters that cover classifications are all written by the authors who originally have described these classifications. A distinctive feature of this book is its comprehensive coverage of joint preservation procedures for knee arthritis. It also has comprehensive coverage of the pertinent basic science topics, such as metal hypersensitivity and the molecular basis for arthrofibrosis. The book is very richly illustrated and, when appropriate, the details of the surgical procedure are effectively described. Even the minutiae of topics are covered. There are a number of chapters on total knee arthroplasty in patients with peculiar yet not uncommon situations, such as cancer, bleeding disorders, Paget's disease, and extreme limb deformity. Congratulations to Javad Parvizi and the Section Editors who have accomplished this difficult task!" - William Hozack, MD
