About the Author
Luke is originally from Aberdeen Scotland although he has lived mostly in England and Ireland. Brought up as a Catholic, he was introduced to Buddhism by an uncle at the age of 15 and has ever since had an interest in spirituality and esoteric arts. He spent ten years in London first as a university student and subsequently working. His interest in religion combined with an interest in history and Celtic culture led him to become involved in paganism in the early 90s. In 1999 Luke moved to Ireland and a year or two later received tuition from prominent Wiccan Barbara Lee which led him to become involved in the formation of Wexford Pagan Moot. He joined a druid grove in 2003 and the following year joined OBOD. Luke is now facilitator of the grove and the only original member left, he is also now a Druid grade member of OBOD, an Archdruid of Druid Clan of Dana and a regular contributor to several pagan magazines in Ireland and UK. In 2006 he founded irishdruidnetwork.org as a networking and information tool for the 32 counties of Ireland and for the last 2 years he has facilitated a one day Pagan event - Eigse Spiriod Ceilteach (Gathering of Celtic Spirituality) which will hopefully continue to grow in future years. The Druid's Primer is his third book (the first under his own name), an attempt to collate the key aspects of the huge body of generally little-known Druidic knowledge, together with insights obtained from 20 years involved in exploration of spiritual and esoteric development.
Reviews
The Journey combines the author's thoughts with eclectic teachings from throughout the world... thought-provoking. --The Evening Herald This small book is one of those unusual publications that you can read in half an hour but leaves quite an impression... It reads like a gentle conversation and I very much enjoyed it - picking up sone insights along the way. I felt that the message was quite relevant for today: that there are many paths to truth. --Immrama Magazine A handy small reference and reminder of the essential unity of every spiritual path, but also a working notebook and starting point for the owner to add to the collection with their own favourites, and the format lends itself to this use. --Touchstone Magazine
