At age 6 my father started work in the coal mines setting dynamite, later worked with John L. Lewis forming the coal miners union. After a riot and killing moved to California in 1920. Started working for Union Oil. Takes the reader with many family anecdotes from early Pennsylvania and Orange County California 1920's. Covers the Long Beach earthquake and the flood 1938, World War II, family joys and sorrows. Families mentioned: Allshouse, Booher, Criss, Frost, Harker, Pugh, Reott, Smith. The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.

Found a hard to get book…

Finding a hard to get book on Booksplease and with it not being an over inflated price was great. Ordering was really easy with updates on despatch. The book was packaged well and in great condition. I will certainly use them again.
