About the Author
Dr Nigel Pollard is a Roman historian and archaeologist. He is a lecturer in Ancient History in the School of Arts and Humanities at Swansea University. Much of his research focuses on the eastern part of the Roman Empire (Syria and Egypt) and Italy. Joanne Berry is a Roman historian and archaeologist, and a lecturer in Ancient History in the School of Arts and Humanities at Swansea University. Much of her research to date has focused on the ancient site of Pompeii. In 2008 she founded Blogging Pompeii, a news and discussion site for Pompeii and the archaeological sites of the Bay of Naples.
