About the Author
Prof. Tim Noakes has published more than 750 scientific books and articles. He has been cited more than 16 000 times in scientific literature, has an H-index of 71 and is rated an A1 scientist by the National Research Foundation of South Africa. After coming across research which denounced current international dietary guidelines as fallacy and being left frustrated by a decline in his own health, Prof. Noakes started researching the effects of carbohydrates, proteins and fats on the human race. His research convinced him that a high-fat, low-carb diet is the healthiest option for many. Bernadine Douglas is the founder of the Slender Slim 4 U Banting Clinics group. Bernadine offers clients support and advice online through social media and personal consultations and works from a doctor's practice in Cape Town, where she offers personal consultations and weight management for clients. She is a nutritional therapist specialising in diet and weight management, sports and exercise nutrition, and personal and child nutrition. Bridgette Allan started her professional career as a registered nurse and midwife. She is qualified in several alternative healing modalities and has included personal nutrition, child nutrition and nutritional therapy in her continued professional development. She runs an integrative wellness practice in which she uses a holistic approach to help her clients correct lifestyle diseases.
