Peter Ellis' Seven Pauline Letters does for students of Paul what his Men and Message of the Old Testament and what his Matthew: His Mind and His Message does for students of Matthew's Gospel. With a style noteworthy for its precision and clarity, Seven Pauline Letters provides students of Paul's letters with:
- up-to-date commentaries on 1 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Philippians, Galatians, Romans, and Philemon
- revolutionary new insights on the literary structure and the theological argumentation of the Pauline letters
- extended explanations of apocalyptic literature, eschatology, and the kenotic hymn (Phil 2:6-11)
- a nuanced presentation of the theological development of Paul's mind from his first letter to his last
- a new and insightful study of Paul's magnificent theological syntheses in his profound letter to the Romans
