About the Author
Having worked as a postman, an architect, a university professor and an urban development consultant, Sarah Holding is now a full-time children's author, juggling writing with looking after a family of three children. They live in London in a funny old house with a leaning tower. When she's not writing she's singing, and when she's not singing she's playing sax in her jazz band. She says she knew there would always come a time when the abandoned island of St Kilda would feature somewhere in her life, little thinking it would be the setting for her first children's book.
Reviews
"Think the secret Island meets Dr Who's TARDIS and Greenpeace Junior. This non-stop adventure will excite imaginations and stimulate eco-debates" The Rt Hon Edward Davey MP, Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change. "...a different way of introducing children to climate change. The thermocromic covers are a great idea." Dame Jacqueline Wilson DBE FRSL. "There's no feeling that you are reading a children's book, as the language is clear and intelligent - and yet you are drawn into a dream-like state where impossible events seem perfectly reasonable. Highly recommended." GoodReads
