Reviews
an excellent blend of conceptual, methodological and empirical chapters * Rasa Pilkauskaite Valickiene, Applied Research in Quality of Life *
This timely volume takes a strengths-based approach to understanding Roma minority youth, who historically have been one of the most marginalized and oppressed groups in Europe. The international and multidisciplinary perspectives make the book essential reading for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to support positive development of Roma youth across a variety of cultural contexts. * Jennifer E. Lansford, Research Professor, Duke University, Center for Child and Family Policy, USA *
By employing a positive youth development (PYD) approach, this masterful volume unpacks the multiple pathways and resources that Roma young people tap for positive adaptation, resilience, and wellbeing. In opening us to Roma youth's strengths and supports, this book expands our thinking to reconsider what we must be missing when we study so many young people primarily through a deficit lens. * Eugene C. Roehlkepartain, Ph.D, Search Institute, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA *
