Description
Edward Wimberly utilizes case studies to illustrate how spiritual discernment can be used in pastoral counseling. He shows the value of seeking to discern God's presence in the counseling process to bring healing and wholeness to those who suffer from broken relationships. A discernment model of pastoral/Christian counseling is provided for three groups of people: individuals, couples, and families.
About the Author
Edward P. Wimberly is Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also teaches courses on pastoral care and counseling. His publications include Winds of Promise: Building and Maintaining Strong Clergy Families (co-authored with Anne Wimberly) and African American Pastoral Care: The Politics of Oppression and Empowerment.
