Reviews
"Johnny Shaw has a way of making the ugliest, roughest, most insane misadventures feel honest and hilarious. Underneath all that vomit and blood is real affection, even tenderness, for a world that Shaw obviously knows well. His writing is brutal and profane and absolutely beautiful." -SG Redling bestselling author of Flowertown and The Widow File "If you do not love Johnny Shaw's new novel Plaster City, I will fight you." -Christa Faust, author of Money Shot and Choke Hold "Each one of Johnny Shaw's books has left me a happy camper, with the conviction that the next book couldn't possibly be better...Plaster City is a wonderfully plotted, humor-filled book, with masterfully drawn eccentric characters up the yin-yang...a book that shows genuine heart." -Murder by the Book "Johnny Shaw is a Scott Phillips of the American Southwest, like Phillips setting his novels in bleak, flat landscapes, and populating them with dangerous, violent characters who, call them bad or call them immoral, are almost always endearingly human. Oh, and, like Phillips's, his books will always make a reader laugh out loud while only rarely descending into jokiness...Like Dove Season, it uses the word fiasco in the title, and I'm for anything that has fiasco in it." -Detectives Beyond Borders
