Reviews
. . . Vitalij Neugasimov's two books of Piano Sketches are among those that you really DON'T want to miss! . . . Neugasimov writes with personality and panache . . . all Neugasimov's pieces have a fresh contemporary feel to them - they really are a cut above the pastiche and faux-jazz offerings sometimes found elsewhere . . . both collections really are 'bang on the money' from cover to cover. . . . the books combine . . . striking cover artwork, clean, spacious music engraving, excellent editing, and judicious fingering. The Piano Sketches books are, then, something very special indeed. Piano Sketche and Piano Sketches Duets between them provide a rich and varied selection of contemporary music that intermediate students will very likely find appealing and fun to play, while developing sound technical skills, a more alert sense of style, and in the case of the Duet books, enjoyment playing with others. * pianodao.com, May 2018 *
After struggling to find appropriate pieces that would engage her pupils and help their technical development, Liudmila [Neugasimova] commissioned her brother, Vitalij, to compose new and original piano pieces. The objective was to provide young pianists with fun, enjoyable, appealing and accessible material to play, which was at the same time educational, imaginative and rewarding. Vitalij got to work and composed pieces that have proved to be an instant hit with player and listener alike . . . All the pieces have great individual character and offer different challenges, as well as scope for development and enhancement of musical skills. The pieces are beautifully crafted, meeting the needs of teachers and students. This quality has been recognised by ABRSM who selected 'Lullaby' from book 1 for the Piano Exam Pieces 2015 & 2016 Grade 2. * Piano Professional, October 2016 *
