Reviews
Neurosurgery by Example: Pediatric Neurosurgery is geared toward those who are studying for the Oral Boards examination, but it is a thoroughly useful source of interesting and well-presented cases which would be valuable for any neurosurgery resident, fellow, or attending nurse who wants to improve his or her knowledge of a broad range of pediatric neurosurgical disorders and their therapies. * Carrie R. Muh, MD, MS, MHSc, New York MedicalCollege, Valhalla, New York, Neurosurgery *
This very instructive text will be of interest to all levels of neurosurgical trainees and practitioners, as well as to any medical specialists who want to understand the clinically important issues regarding the conditions discussed. I cant think of a better contemporary review text to prepare for oral board or re-certification examinations. * R. Michael Scott, MD, Fellows Family Chair in Pediatric Neurosurgery, Emeritus Neurosurgeon-in-Chief, Boston Children's Hospital; Professor of Neurosurgery, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA *
The authors present the spectrum of pediatric neurosurgery in a unique way, developing each chapter from the perspective of an individual case. Therapeutic options are considered, surgical techniques are described in detail, and postoperative management and complications are discussed. The text is likely to be a valuable resource for residents in their early years of training and for those reviewing for oral board exams. * Leland Albright, MD, Professor of Neurosurgery, Retd., University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, Madison, WI *
