Description

At every turn, Rangers Football Club is steeped in history, but often that history centres on the club's well-known legends whose names and deeds are part of football folklore. What about the players whose stories have been lost in the fog of time? Rangers' history is about more than just a select group of stars. Rather, it is a rich tapestry of interconnecting tales, with each of the hundreds of players to have played for the club having their own unique story. Our Rangers Heroes brings to life some of the lesser-known tales of icons of the past. From a Scotsman managing Egypt in the 1934 World Cup, to the Danish Resistance fighting the Nazis, to a Croatian car mechanic who lived the dream on the Cote d'Azur, there are countless untold stories from Rangers' proud and interesting past that need to be told. This book uncovers some of the very best of them.

About the Author

Ian Hogg is a lifelong Rangers fan with a passion for football history. Our Rangers Heroes grew out of a podcast research project that started on Pass-a-grille Beach, Florida, after discovering that a Scotsman had managed the Egypt national side in the 1930s. Down the research rabbit hole he fell, emerging with a wealth of material and a burning desire to put pen to paper. This book is the result.

Reviews

"Ian Hogg looks beyond the big-name stars that dominate most histories of Rangers, at some of the lesser-known names who have played a part in the team's success in smaller but no less important ways, who time may have forgotten."

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
