About the Author
Maria Farrer lives in the Somerset countryside with her husband and Chiecco the dog. Before this she lived on a small farm in New Zealand with a flock of sheep, a herd of cows, two badly-behaved pigs, and a budgie that sat on her head while she wrote. Maria trained as a speech therapist and teacher and worked in hospitals and schools. She later completed an MA in Writing for Young People She likes to ride her bike to the top of steep hills so she can hurtle back down again. She also loves mountains, snow, and adventure and dreams of going to the Arctic to see polar bears in the wild. Joe's New World is Maria's third book about Mister P, the world's most helpful polar bear. Daniel Rieley is a British freelance illustrator based in Lisbon.
