Description

"If you love Elin Hilderbrand and The Great Gatsby, Moore's confection of a novel, set on Block Island, is a satisfying treat."-The New York Times

From the national bestselling author, a sparkling, escapist novel following a young woman entwined in the opulent lives of her neighbors, set against a backdrop of scandal, secrets, and a not-so-subtle love triangle, perfect for readers of The Wedding People and Pineapple Street.

It's the beginning of the summer, and Nicola Carr has just arrived on Block Island, RI, eager for a fresh start and some R&R. But her plans for a tranquil summer are quickly derailed when she meets the neighbor who owns the mansion next door, Juliana George, an enigmatic entrepreneur with a past shrouded in mystery.

Juliana, CEO and founder of a hot fashion-tech company, is spending the summer on Block Island preparing for a major IPO. But she's chasing her dreams in more ways than one. This summer she hopes to rekindle a flame with a man from her past-a man who has a surprising connection to her neighbor Nicola.

Taylor Buchanan, the wife of Nicola's cousin, is second-in-command of a real estate empire. Her life is exactly the way she planned it, and there's nothing she'll let get in her way of Having It All. But when everything suddenly verges on the edge of collapse, she has no choice but to take matters into her own hands.

As Nicola, Juliana, and Taylor's summers unfold, the three women are set on a collision course that leads to inevitable self-discovery, unforgivable betrayal, an unavoidable love triangle-and, most unexpectedly, a dead body.

Reviews
"Those who like their beach books with a lot of drama will find what they're looking for-and then some. Summer Stage is best enjoyed for its setting (in its varied loveliness Block Island becomes almost another character), for its observations about the changing nature of fame, and for its occasional sly commentary." - Wall Street Journal "Meg Mitchell Moore kept me flipping pages late into the night in a new novel about the fleeting nature of notoriety, the darker side of fame, and how, sometimes, simply saying yes can change our lives in the most unexpected ways. Summer Stage is a five-star novel that deserves a standing ovation! And Meg Mitchell Moore has a permanent place on my list of favorite authors." - Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times bestselling author of The Summer of Songbirds "Moore brings summer theatre to life in her sparkling latest. The relationships feel real and engaging, and the dialogue is sharp and snappy, with smart writing that examines familial relationships with insight and aplomb. This one's equally charming and satisfying." - Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Summer Stage "Moore deftly addresses questions of wealth and privilege and paints a picturesque portrait of an island caught between eras." - Library Journal "If you're looking for THE beach book of summer, here it is: Mansion Beach by Meg Mitchell Moore. It's an engrossing, incredibly clever modern retelling of The Great Gatsby set on Block Island (which I now must visit!). Meg writes my favorite beach reads, and this is her best yet." - Elin Hilderbrand, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Perfect Couple "Moore combines Elin Hilderbrand's knack for details with a slightly more cynical point of view, presenting the careless cruelty of the ultrarich in a compelling, beachy tale." - Booklist "Just as F. Scott Fitzgerald did, Moore looks critically at the spectacle of class and wealth. And though it's fun for a Gatsby fan to note the ways the story follows and diverges from the original's characters and plot, Mansion Beach stands on its own. It's a summer read with a bite, like a cocktail with an extra shake of bitters." - BookPage "Meg Mitchell Moore's absorbing ninth novel delves into the strictures of class, the ache of star-crossed love, and the explosive power of secrets. Inspired by the sparkle and scandal of The Great Gatsby, Mansion Beach is a smooth, escapist summer cocktail, as bracing and elegant as a gin martini-with a twist." - Shelf Awareness "Unfurled in a quippy voice rinsed in humor, Mansion Beach is a must-read for folks who enjoyed Emma Cline's The Guest, Hildebrand's The Perfect Couple, and, of course, the Gatsby OG." - Marie Claire "Moore has created a story that unfolds much like a hot summer day at the beach-slow and languid and spiced up with a bit of drama. A light beach read that also examines the benefits and costs of celebrity." - Kirkus Reviews on Summer Stage "Mansion Beach is delightful, transportive, and addictive. Meg Mitchell Moore writes perfectly about regrets, love, secrets, and class. I was completely captivated by this world full of waterfront mansions, complex characters, and messy love triangles." - Jennifer Close, bestselling author of Girls in White Dresses "Cue the music, pop the champagne, and get ready for a summer sizzler you won't want to miss. Inspired in part by The Great Gatsby, Meg Mitchell Moore delivers an exciting modern twist on a classic tale. Mansion Beach offers everything you could want in a summer read: a tightly woven, simmering plot, characters layered with complexity, and a setting that makes you feel the sun on your face and a warm breeze on your back. It's a perfect blend of intrigue and humor that will keep you turning the pages!" - Jamie Day, bestselling author of The Block Party "An unputdownable modern-day take on The Great Gatsby, complete with lavish summer parties, ill-advised love affairs, a dead body, and obscene wealth. This time, with a cast of complicated, ambitious young women telling the tale. I gobbled it up." - J. Courtney Sullivan, New York Times bestselling author of The Cliffs "A gender-flipped version of The Great Gatsby is exactly what Us needs this summer and Moore did not disappoint with this novel full of scandal, secrets and, of course, some love." - Us Weekly "If you love Elin Hilderbrand and The Great Gatsby, Moore's confection of a novel, set on Block Island, is a satisfying treat." - New York Times

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
