Description

Two leading gender experts and Harvard researchers reveal a new paradigm for fairness at work and offer professionals at every level, in any kind of organization, immediate, proven, and evidence-based ways to do their everyday work better and smarter-and more fairly.

To make organizations more fair, many well-meaning individuals and companies invest their time and resources in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. But because inequity is built into the structures, processes, and environments of our workplaces, adding these programs has been ineffective and often becomes a burden passed off to the individuals they are meant to help.

In Make Work Fair, behavioral scientist and author of What Works Iris Bohnet and gender expert Siri Chilazi offer data-backed, actionable solutions that build fairness into the very fabric of the workplace. Their methods-tested at many organizations, and grounded in data proven to work in the real world-help us make fairer, and simply better, decisions. Using their three-part framework, employees at all levels can embed fairness into their everyday practices.

Believing in equal opportunity is essential-but it isn't enough. Offering an evidence-based blueprint, Make Work Fair shows you how to make it a reality, no matter your role, seniority, responsibilities, or where you are in the world.

Reviews
"Harvard scholars Iris Bohnet and Siri Chilazi offer actionable advice for putting principle into practice and transforming good intentions into measurable impact." - Melinda French Gates, philanthropist, founder of Pivotal, and New York Times bestselling author of The Moment of Lift "Whereas many discussions of DEI are driven by ideology, this book is grounded in evidence. It's a timely, engaging, insightful, and practical guide to building workplaces that create opportunities for everyone to succeed and belong." - Adam Grant, number one New York Times bestselling author of Hidden Potential and Think Again, and host of the podcast WorkLife "A masterclass in intelligent, practical, evidence-based organizational design for leaders at all levels! Bohnet and Chilazi are revolutionizing how we think about diversity, equity, and inclusion at work." - Ashley Judd, humanitarian, author, and actor "Bohnet and Chilazi remind us not to obsess on de-biasing humans, because it's hard to undo two million years of evolution. But making business and HR policies fairer is literally manageable and profitable-especially if you read this book!" - Oona King, chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer, Uber "Bohnet and Chilazi are the leading thinkers helping us design workplaces that are not only more fair but simply better and smarter. This book is a timely and timeless treasure!" - Indra Nooyi, former chairman and CEO, PepsiCo "Is there a science of fairness? Absolutely. Bohnet and Chilazi outline evidence-based strategies that promise to increase fairness at work. A vivid read, and a phenomenal achievement." - Cass R. Sunstein, Robert Walmsley University Professor, Harvard University, and coauthor of Nudge "Harvard-based gender equality experts Bohnet and Chilazi offer a wealth of practical, evidence-based approaches to help ensure fairness at work. If DEI is "ripe for a rethink", as both the authors and recent energy-sapping culture wars suggest, "fairness" might be an acceptable replacement term." - Financial Times

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
