About the Author

Gustaf Soederlind is Professor emeritus of Numerical Mathematics at Lund University. His research interests include stability theory, functional analysis, control theory, and adaptive discretization methods in scientific computing. He has also worked with many applications in industry and science, and served for several years on research councils in Sweden and abroad.
