Description

The eighteenth book in the award-winning Peter Diamond series, from Peter Lovesey.

As a New Year begins in Bath, Ben Brace proposes to his long-term girlfriend, Caroline. The problem is that she's the daughter of notorious crime baron, Joe Irving, who is coming to the end of a prison sentence. And Ben's father George is Bath's Deputy Chief Constable. But mothers and sons are a formidable force: a wedding in the Abbey and reception in the Roman Baths are set in place before the career-obsessed DCC can step in.

Peter Diamond, Bath's head of CID, is appalled to be put in charge of security on the day. Ordered to be discreet, he packs a gun and a guest list in his best suit and must somehow cope with potential killers, gang rivals, warring parents, bossy photographers and straying bridesmaids. The laid-back Joe Irving seems oblivious to the danger he is in from rival gang-leaders, while Brace can't wait for the day to end.

Will the photo-session be a literal shoot? Will Joe Irving's speech as father of the bride be his last words? Can Diamond pull off a miracle, avert a tragedy and send the happy couple on their honeymoon?

Bath detective Peter Diamond finds himself at a prestigious wedding that ends in murder...

About the Author

Peter Lovesey is the only living author in Britain to have received the two highest honours in crime writing - the Diamond Dagger of the Crime Writers Association and Grand Master of the Mystery Writers of America. He started with the Sergeant Cribb series set in Victorian London and later progressed to modern times with the award-winning Peter Diamond books set in Bath, his home for almost twenty years.

Now living in Shrewsbury with his wife Jax, whom he met at Reading University, he continues to reach and entertain new readers across the world.

Reviews
While there are laughs along the way, this would not be a Peter Lovesey novel without edge-of-the-seat tension. Crime fiction of the highest grade * Daily Mail *
Lovesey spins a tricksy plot with dark humour and red herrings galore * Peterborough Evening Telegraph *
Fun is something guaranteed by the name Peter Lovesey on a book cover...plenty of twists and misdirections * Morning Star *
Mr Lovesey has been writing his Peter Diamond series for nearly three decades, and it's a pleasure to note no discernible flagging of energy in author or detective * Wall Street Journal *
With its unexpected twists and turns, Peter Lovesey scores another hit with Killing with Confetti, keeping the reader guessing all the way to the altar * Shots Mag *
As with all of Lovesey's books it is compulsive reading, especially when Peter Diamond comes on the scene. It has an intriguing plot, with some moments of high tension, and Lovesey's trademark dry humour. As always, the characterisation is superb. Diamond and his team are familiar and well-loved friends, all with their own quirks but all likeable. The theme that runs through the book is the corrosive nature of ambition, greed and entitlement, and the fundamental integrity of Peter Diamond shines through. Killing With Confetti is a page turner, which I would recommend * Mystery People *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
