Thandi needs new shoes but she knows they cost a lot of money. After thinking for a while, she goes to her grandmother, who helps plan a way to get the money with a little bit of help from Nosipho, Thandi's doll, and Pepi, her pet rooster. About the Author
Catherine lives with her husband and three daughters on a smallholding outside Stellenbosch. She is kept busy with her writing, illustrating, chickens, fruit trees and gardening. She is involved with the not-for-profit initiative Siphosenkosi (NPO 048-026), which trains previously disadvantaged women to make an African rag doll called Nosipho. The doll is featured in each of books in the Thandi and Nosipho series. Catherine's passion is to work with children who are in crisis, foster care or suffering from the effects of HIV/AIDS.
