Description

Inspired by classic kung fu flicks from the 1980s and 1990s, Hong Kong cult illustrator Rex Koo pays tribute to the heroes from his childhood in I KNOW KUNG FU- an artbook that celebrates the much-loved shows and stars that have made Chinese martial arts into the global pop-culture phenomenon that it is today.

Drawing from four popular kung fu movies - "Once Upon a Time in China III", "Shaolin Soccer", "Kung Fu Hustle", and "The Grandmaster" - Koo brings to life the legendary tales and titbits behind fan-favourite fighting techniques such as the "Golden Shield Iron Vest", "Magic Power of Toad", and "Tai Chi Fist" in his distinct, nuanced style.

Readers can expect over 250 pages of compelling and characterful illustrations depicting featured moves and film stills, before learning more about the actors and producers that have made a mark on local and international kung fu cinema via a special section dedicated to these masters.

This book is available in a vivid red or bright yellow; books are shipped to customers at random.

Local cult illustrator Rex Koo gives nostalgia a unique twist by adding his distinct spin to this 'kung fu' compendium that features and pays tribute to Hong Kong martial arts/action movies.

About the Author
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Rex Koo has been working in graphic design for more than a decade, but his true passion lies in art, music, and movies - where he combines his unique perspectives with bold visual expressions. Rex believes that where design can sometimes be 'cold, rational and calculative', paintings can conversely be 'irrational and unrestrained' due to their devotion to feelings. (From RMM book)

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
