Description

'If I hadn't walked into the room at that moment, maybe everything would have worked out differently. Maybe everything would have been all right after all . . .'

Port Sentinel may be a beautiful seaside tourist trap, but in the short time Jess Tennant has lived there, it has seen its fair share of tragedy. Tragedy that somehow Jess keeps getting caught up in.

A schoolgirl from the town goes missing, leaving her diary behind and a lot of unanswered questions. Has she run away from her unhappy home or is there something much more sinister going on? And can Jess find her before it's too late?

A brand-new edge-of-your seat thriller from bestselling author, Jane Casey. Picture perfect places can often hide the darkest of secrets ...

About the Author
Jane Casey was born and brought up in Dublin. A former editor, she has written eleven crime novels for adults and three for teenagers. Her books have been international bestsellers, critically acclaimed for their realism and accuracy. The Maeve Kerrigan series has been nominated for many awards: in 2015 Jane won the Mary Higgins Clark Award for The Stranger You Know and Irish Crime Novel of the Year for After the Fire. In 2019, Cruel Acts was chosen as Irish Crime Novel of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. It was a Sunday Times bestseller. The Killing Kind was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick in 2021, and is being adapted for television. Jane lives in southwest London with her husband, who is a criminal barrister, and their two children.

Reviews
Using part romance, part mystery, part family drama, Casey manages to develop multiple plots simultaneously in the Jess Tennant series. Jess is a character who is stubborn, tough, and headstrong but also has a soft side for those in need; she is, in fact, compelled to eliminate injustice. Jess's distrust of authority is what drives her determination, and as it turns out, she is not wrong about the corrupt adults creating friction in her life * Voya (US) *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
