Description

Now in its third edition, this core textbook offers a comprehensive framework for creating a culturally safe environment and enhancing health outcomes for Indigenous Australians. Through case studies, discussions, reflections and critiques of health issues in Australia today, Health Care and Indigenous Australians offers a starting point for learning about cultural safety in an Indigenous health context, and is essential for students, academics and practitioners alike. This is key reading for anyone taking courses on Indigenous health modules in nursing, midwifery and health related courses at undergraduate or postgraduate level, as well practitioners and academics<.

Reviews
This is a great introduction to many of the challenging historical and contemporary issues that student and practicing healthcare professionals must be aware of to enable provision of culturally competent and safe care for Indigenous Australians. I recommend it to my students, and for the ones that have it as a prescribed text, I tell them they cannot study in my Unit without it! * Dr Liz Rix, Southern Cross University, Australia *
It explains the core issues for nurses working with Indigenous people in Australia today. Well written, accessible and well informed, I find it accessible and easy to connect with. * Janet Kelly, Adelaide School of Nursing, University of Adelaide, Australia *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
