Reviews
At a time when academic philosophy can often seem little more than an intellectual obstacle race for the fast-talking, pushy, and glib, we need books like Russell's to remind us what is really at stake. * Timothy Chappell, Ethics *
Anyone who has an interest in the debate between Aristotelians and Stoics will profit from reading Happiness for Humans. Russell's book is philosophically engaging precisely because for him this is very much a live issue. * Richard Kraut, Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews *
This is a well-argued, fresh approach to the happiness conversation . . . Highly recommended. * S. J. Shaw, Choice *
Enjoyable to read, and rewarding to think about. . . * A. W. Price, The Philosophical Quarterly, *
