The condemned featured in this work range from coiners and forgers to murderers, thieves and highwaymen, the most infamous being Dick Turpin, who was hanged on York's Knavesmire in 1739 for horse-stealing.
About the Author
STEPHEN WADE is a crime historian with a special interest in regional murder cases. He is the author of Lincolnshire Murders and Square Mile Bobbies (due out in 2008). He lives in Scunthorpe, north Lincolnshire.
