Description

Let's go out and hunt mushrooms! Foraging for wild mushrooms is one of the most enjoyable and delicious of family activities.

Good Mushroom Bad Mushroom is a friendly, authoritative field guide to hunting and eating wild mushrooms, including (importantly) how to identify the edible ones and avoid the toxic ones. Mushroom expert John Plischke considers 50 of the most interesting and noteworthy mushrooms out there, with full-color photos throughout and generous helpings of mushroom recipes. An attractive gift book for beginners and old-timers alike - adults as well as curious kids - Good Mushroom Bad Mushroom features heavy matte-laminated pages and concealed-wire binding for handy use outside.

John Plischke III has been hunting mushrooms for over 40 years. He is well known throughout the United States and Canada, having given hundreds of mushroom programs to schools, parks, mushroom clubs and other groups. The club is now one of the largest mushroom clubs in the United States. John has received the North American Mycological Association's (NAMA) Knighton Service Award. He is the author of Morel Mushrooms and Their Poisonous Look A Likes, has edited two cookbooks of the Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club and has been a contributor to many other mushroom books. Reviews
"When it comes to identifying and eating wild mushrooms, you need an expert you can trust. John Plischke III is that expert: he knows the mushrooms, which ones are edible, and how to tell them from any poisonous look-alikes. I'd trust my life to his judgment." -Gary Lincoff, author of The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms
"John is one of the top mushroom identifiers in the USA. Generously sharing his knowledge through lectures, workshops and meetings on mushrooms, he is a well known and sought after teacher." -Sandy Sheine, Education Chair, North American Mycological Association

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
