As a travel journalist, Kate Silver is always on the lookout for her next adventure. She's written about eating bull meat in Pamplona, Spain; waded in cranberry marshes in Wisconsin; jumped off the rocky cliffs of Wales' Pembrokeshire Coast into the cold ocean; cycled from Chicago to Canada; toured Holland on two wheels; walked (a very, very slow and meandering) DIY marathon through the Windy City; spent quiet nights in monasteries in towns throughout the United States and met countless incredible people along the way. She lives in Chicago and has literally written the book(s) on the city: Frommer's Chicago Day by Day 2019 and Frommer's EasyGuide to Chicago 2015. Silver has been writing professionally for nearly 20 years, first on staff at a newspaper in Las Vegas (Las Vegas Weekly) and now, freelance.
