Description

Two sisters, a lifetime of secrets, and the chance to set the record straight...

Meet Goldie and Vee: sisters, dreamers, grafters. In their forties, both appear to have it all...

Until Goldie finds the courage to leave Benedict. Once upon a time their faux marriage worked, but when the magnetic Wolfie comes on the scene, her world of pretending falls apart.

Vee's neat world is spiraling, too. Since her ex-husband Jamie started dating Julia her cruel school bully, Vee's long-buried insecurities are out of control. She needs to get away, and fast.

So when Goldie suggests a holiday in France, Vee leaps at the idea. A curiously well-timed invitation - just as speculations around Goldie's brilliantly brief pop career back in the nineties are beginning to resurface. Escaping's one thing, but nothing stays secret forever, and as Vee and Goldie's unresolved pasts make surprise returns, the stories them girls once told themselves begin to look very different...

A raw and real portrayal of two sisters, the lives they left behind and the lives they want to lead, Them Girls is bold and immediate and deals with themes of identity, class and the corruption of power . . .

Reviews
'A stunning novel that feels like a candid conversation, and a story of two viscerally real sisters' secrets. I completely fell in love with Them Girls and will be thinking of brave and brilliant Goldie and Vee always' -- Lizzie Huxley-Jones, author of Reality Check
'Full of heartbreak, spikiness and tenderness. Made me angry and made me laugh out loud. Brilliant' -- Yvvette Edwards, author of A Cupboard Full of Coats
'This book had me laughing and crying. I loved the characters and it's so refreshing to read about women in middle age getting a new lease of life. The writing is sharp and witty but also tender and beautiful. I didn't want this story to end. Vee and Goldie will stay with me for a long time and I felt inspired after being immersed in their world. I also absolutely loved the music reference chapter headings!' -- Diana Anyakwo, author of My Life As A Chameleon
'A story of past lives, regretful choices and rekindled dreams. Them Girls hits the high notes of working-lass wit and sharp cynicism. A harmony well worth singing' -- Jack Charles, author of Barley Sugar
'Eva's writing is vibrant, heartfelt and honest, and I loved this many-layered story of sisterhood, creativity and reckoning with the past. I was captivated by Goldie and Vee's journey from page one as they set out to reclaim what others had tried to take away: their dreams, and their voices' -- Amelie Skoda, author of Bethnal Green
'Them Girls is a searingly honest, tender and funny novel. I didn't want to leave the world of Goldie and Vee' -- Heidi James, author of The Sound Mirror
'Filled with soul, nostalgia, intimacy, realness and humour. Simply beautiful' -- Ola Tundun, author of Roommates
'Funny and relatable, Eva Verde is a fresh voice in contemporary fiction' -- Ruth Dugdall, author of The Woman Before Me
'A fabulous twisty read following the incredible story of two lovable, feisty and smart women. Them Girls sensitively deals with huge issues, while also managing to be funny, sexy and nostalgic. I raced through it' -- Luan Goldie, author of Nightingale Point

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
