Her latest publications include Mord und andere Kleinigkeiten. Ungewoehnliche Kriminalfalle aus sechs Jahrhunderten (2001) and the forthcoming 'Refugees of Revolution. Political Exiles in Mid-Victorian London' (2002). Director of the German Historical Institute in London until 2000. He has written on 19th century German and English history.
