When Lewis relocates from London to Cairo on a career break, he is disillusioned and aimless. The city is splintered by deep inequality and an air of desperation.

His budding connection with Nailah, an offbeat and engaging art gallery attendant, becomes a conflicted haven. Her cutting musings and quirks shake his perception; of his life and his relationship with his partner Juliette. As Nailah bares her soul, she illuminates the horrors afflicting Cairo and its people, as well as the darker enclaves of Lewis’ own psyche.

Submerged in the sinister underbelly of Cairo society, Lewis is forced to grapple with the ugliness of morality and desire, where his decisions will shape the rest of his life. Weaving between moments of disorientation and biting clarity, Bluethroat Serenade is a Neo-noir examination of love and cultural decay, illustrating the distressing reality of human flaws, and the visceral consequences of cruelty and deceit.
