Reviews
The book is intended for complete beginners and explains how to progress from garter stitch, via stocking stitch to various combinations of knit and purl stitches. It also includes advice on reading a pattern, using circular needles, and finishing.
Each stitch is explained in full and is followed by a pattern that is written out with abbreviated instructions. The print is large and the pictures of swatches are clear; a useful inclusion is a picture on the reverse side of the swatch too. All of the patterns are simple with very little shaping and, for someone totally new to knitting, I think the book would be ideal.
