Reviews
'An engaging read, and one the shines a light on the wealth of valuable information contained in a woman's will.' -- Current Archaeology Magazine, November 2023
'All in all a very well-researched book, and an asset to the bookshelf of information-seekers of all levels and interests.' -- WDYTYA Magazine, December 2023
'The book gives a welcome glimpse into the lives of so many women, rich or poor, famous or infamous. It also gives food for thought for researchers - a will might have more to offer than it would at first appear.' -- Family Historical Research Society, February 2024
'The breadth of life experiences and topics woven into the book is remarkable, as are the numerous mentions of items bequeathed - a treasure-trove of information and potted histories. It does feel a tantalizing read, however, as it would be lovely to be able to read some of the wills in full first-hand, but that's up to us, as family historians, to go and track down the records.' -- Family Tree Magazine, April 2024
