About the Author
Born and raised in semi-rural Maryland, Selina Meyer graduated from Smith College and then Yale Law School, becoming just the second female partner at the prestigious DC firm of Dane and Hoberman. Elected to the House in 1998 and then the Senate in 2002, she quickly emerged as one of the most influential and dynamic leaders in Congress despite her young age. In 2012, she made history when she was elected the first female vice president of the United States as the running mate of President Stuart Hughes. When Hughes resigned in 2016, Meyer again electrified the world when she took charge in the Oval Office. Working round-the-clock with her signature drive and intelligence, Meyer managed to overcome decades of government indifference and inertia to create signature initiatives on a broad variety of fronts.
