Description

A single bite was all it took to turn a lavish celebration into a deadly mystery.

Step into the enchanting yet treacherous world of 1920s England with A Spiffing Murder, where celebrated amateur sleuth, the Dowager Duchess of Drakeford, and her sharp-eyed ward, Rex, are thrust into a web of intrigue and danger at the opulent Hilltop estate.

When Sir Herbert Cummings's chief accountant, Farrier, collapses after a single bite of cake during a high-society gathering, what seemed like a tragic accident quickly hints at something more sinister. Joined by Scotland Yard's finest, Detective Inspector Arthur Whipple, the Dowager and Rex uncover secrets lurking beneath the estate's polished surface. As alliances fracture, the trio navigates class rivalries, personal vendettas, and buried motives among a colorful cast of suspects, each hiding dark secrets of their own.

With the guests confined and a killer on the loose, can they catch the culprit before another victim falls?

Join the Dowager, Rex, and Whipple on a delightfully puzzling journey, where the only thing sharper than the cake knives are the secrets hidden behind every door. Perfect for fans of murder mysteries with a touch of British charm and 1920s humor!

Praise for Rex and Dowager:

I absolutely love this book; it's well written, clever, and funny. I hope Keith Finney writes many more stories about Rex and HG.

Can't wait for the next one!

...a page-turner from start to finish.

Once again, Keith has written a very entertaining tale centered around the aristocracy, but this time set in 1922.

Wow, Keith... words fail me.

About the Author

Keith Finney writes mystery stories steeped in the haunting beauty and rich history of Norfolk, England. A lifelong history enthusiast, he spends his free time unearthing the past through organized metal detecting-always hoping for buried treasure (or at least a good story). His own career has been as varied as his hobbies: from selling ice cream to teaching on cruise ships, crafting furniture to lecturing in further education, where he eventually became a college Assistant Principal. Now retired, Keith spins tales of intrigue, spoils his grandchildren, and cheerfully torments his family with his latest historical curiosities.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
