Description

Kira always feels gloomy when it rains. She can't read outside, can't play in the park, and has to wear all her thickest clothes.

But one day her friends Ana and Ilo ask her to join them on an adventure outside during another downpour. Kira discovers the joy of all the things that happen outside when it rains - from the new friends she makes, to the umbrellas on the streets, to the thrill of lightning, and finally, the warmth found at the end of each rainfall.

With her delightful artwork and enchanting words, Rassi Narika spins a story of hope and discovery that will brighten even the rainiest of days.

About the Author
Rassi Narika has been writing since she was a child. She worked as a creative writer for Tulisan in 2011, where she fell in love with the combination of writing and illustration. While studying at Goldsmiths, University of London, she started to explore this combination, and she wrote and illustrated her first picture book when she co-founded Seumpama. When It Rains is her second picture book. Rassi now lives in Jakarta, in a little house which feels very cosy even when it's raining outside. Ikhda Ayuning Maharsi Degoul is an Indonesian poet from Surabaya, currently based in Kyoto, Japan. Her debut pamphlet, "Ikhda by Ikhda", was published by the Emma Press in 2014. Her poems have been published in "Mildly Erotic Verse" and "The Emma Press Anthology of Motherhood". She has since published over 500 writers across more than 70 books, including poetry anthologies for adults and children, short stories, and translations. In 2016 The Emma Press won the Michael Marks Award for Poetry Pamphlet Publishers. She lives in Birmingham.

Reviews

'We loved the positive and refreshing outlook on life which
this book promotes. Rain - traditionally depressing and a cause for boredom -
is presented as an opportunity - a glimpse into joyous freedom... Perfect for
reading aloud, reading in small groups and discussing different ways of looking
at things or finding an alternative point of view in circle time and PSHE.'

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
