Description

From Molly Potter, the best-selling author of How Are You Feeling Today? We all have worries now and then, but sometimes worries can feel like they're getting bigger and bigger, like you can't control them any more. What do you do then? What's Worrying You? is a book all about helping children understand their worries, and what to do when they feel overwhelmed by their thoughts and feelings. Each page takes the child step-by-step through different worry scenarios, such as falling out with a friend, getting in trouble at school, or feeling like no one is listening. It talks about how they might feel, what they might think, and what could help them to ease the anxiety. With fun and lively illustrations from Sarah Jennings, gentle guidance on developing emotional literacy, and simple advice for tackling problems they might face, What's worrying you? is the perfect book for helping children deal with those trickier feelings and gain confidence in the world around them. Let's Talk books help you start meaningful conversations with your child. Written by an expert and covering topics like feelings, relationships, diversity and mental health, these comforting picture books support healthy discussion right from the start.

From best-selling author Molly Potter and illustrator Sarah Jennings comes a new book for small children with big worries. A step-by-step guide for helping young children understand and deal with their worries.

About the Author
Molly Potter taught for 11 years in middle schools as a class teacher, science and PSHE (Personal, Social, and Health Education) coordinator. She then worked for several years as an SRE (Sex and Relationships Education) Development Manager, delivering teacher training and supporting primary schools in the development of their SRE program and policy. Molly now works as a teacher in a short-stay school with children that have been or are at risk from being excluded from mainstream schools, putting much of her PSHE expertise into practice. Sarah Jennings has been illustrating children's books since graduating in 2013. At a young age she discovered a love of drawing and has been scribbling and sketching ever since. Sarah enjoys combining traditional and digital techniques to create her illustrations and particularly loves designing characters. She currently lives in London and works from her home studio in the company of her very cheeky three-legged cat.

Reviews
A fantastic look at what children worry about in every day life but put in a child friendly way that is easily understood. With superb advice all the way through and excellent illustrations... this is the perfect book for a child to be able to talk to any adult about their worries! -- Gemma at Elgin
The book is excellent at putting things from a child's perspective and whilst acknowledging that the fears are very real, it puts children's minds at rest with its practical approach and easily applied solutions that can be used on an on-going basis. -- Parents in Touch
Bright, visually appealing and emotionally accurate, this book will help promote resilience in children; improve self-awareness and communication skills through the development of vocabulary associated with a range of moods and feelings... and would be perfect for use throughout the primary school in PSHE lessons and nurture-based intervention groups. -- The Reader Teacher, @MrEPrimary
The entire book appears to have been produced with real love, care and expertise: the messages are well considered and the tone is just right for young children. -- Claire Ward-Dutton, Little Parachutes
With a handy glossary of feelings and notes for parents, this book will help children talk about the issues in their lives and help them cope with their daily worries in a practical way. -- The Teacher Magazine

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
