Douglas Dawson specializes in ethnic textiles. Rebecca A. T. Stevens is Consulting Curator at The Textile Museum. Shelley Selim is the Jeanne and Ralph Graham Collections Fellow at Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Her research focuses on twentieth-century and contemporary American and European design, art, and material culture. She holds an MA in the history of decorative arts and design from Parsons, the New School for Design/Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Douglas Dawson is widely respected for his commitment to understanding and interpreting ethnic textiles of diverse cultures. For more than thirty yea rs he has traveled the world in search of fine textiles, ceramics, and metalwork representing traditional non-Western cultures, and has staged numerous exhibitions of art from pre-Columbian Americas, Asia, and Africa at Douglas Dawson Gallery in Chicago.
