Description

for SATB and organ or chamber orchestra This is a rich and expressive setting of William Chatterton Dix's famous words. Opening with an elegant melody line for sopranos or tenors, it flowers into full SATB choral textures, both accompanied and a cappella. Containing a delicate soprano solo, lush choral writing, and a tender recurring melody, What child is this? will make an enchanting feature in any Christmas service or concert. An accompaniment for chamber orchestra (fl, cl, str) is available on hire/rental.

Reviews
It is hard to write both simply and effectively, yet all these composers have done so as they set traditional words to newly composed, gentle and appealing melodies, expressing wonder at the birth of the Christ Child. Thomas Hewitt Jones has written a haunting melody for What child is this?, accompanied by organ and set for SATB choir and soprano soloist. It appeared in Carols for Choirs 5, but is now reprinted separately. * Gordon Appleton, www.rscm.co, December 2014 *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
