About the Author
Priscilla L. Sagar EdD, RN, ACNS-BC, CTN-A is Professor of Nursing, Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, NY and previous chair of the division. She is also part-time online faculty, University of Phoenix, School of Advanced Studies. Certified in transcultural nursing and adult health, she presents cultural competency workshops and consults on cultural diversity and promotion of cultural competence. Her publications include a contribution to the Springer Publishing title, Giving Through Teaching, and she has contributed to Clinical Teaching (Hanley & Belfus, PA). Professional memberships include Sigma Theta Tau International; Transcultural Nursing Society (TCNS); Philippine Nurses Association; NYSNA, Council on Nursing Education (2002-2006); and chair Transcultural Nursing Certification Commission's Eligibility and Credentialing Committee. Dr. Sagar is a trained onsite evaluator of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
