Three Little Vikings is all about cooperation, bravery, and getting your voice heard!
Three little Vikings fight off a fearsome troll in this funny, feminist adventure story by the award-winning Bethan Woollvin.
About the Author
Bethan Woollvin won the Macmillan Prize for Illustration in 2014 for Little Red - her classy, bold interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood. It was a startlingly confident debut which she followed with an equally striking and feminist take on Rapunzel, with not a handsome prince in sight. The eldest in a family of ten children, Bethan understands well what appeals to a variety of age groups, and all her work exudes a natural dry wit and charm. She is the creator of Hansel and Gretel, I Can Catch a Monster and Three Little Vikings, as well as illustrating Meet the Planets and Meet the Oceans. She graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a First Class Degree in Illustration in 2015 and now lives in Sheffield.
Reviews
Bethan Woollvin's feminist takes on fairytales for very little children (Little Red, Rapunzel and Hansel & Gretel) accompanied by her distinctive, bold, colourful illustrations have rightly earned her a prize place in the picture-book market. -- Alex O'Connell - Children's Book of the Week * The Times *

"I've long been a fan of Woollvin's bold, colour-block illustrations and deadpan humour and love this story that turns a traditional tale upside-down with a lesson in empowerment for all of us. Great for reading aloud, it's the ideal response to an adult who always thinks they 'know best', so parents beware . . ." -- Sally Morris * Daily Mail *
A story that will likely appeal to all the independent, bookish readers out there. * BookTrust *
