Description

In a collection of essays published by the New York Times, MTV, and Pitchfork, among others - along with original, previously unreleased essays - Hanif Abdurraqib explores the political, social, racial condition of our world today through the language of music and culture. From discussions over public displays of affection at a Carly Rae Jepsen show to the everyday threats to the lives of black Americans, including his own, Abdurraqib provides a lens through which to view our world, so that we might better understand ourselves, and in so doing proves himself a bellwether for our times.

About the Author
Hanif Abdurraqib is a poet, essayist, and cultural critic from Columbus, Ohio. His essays and music criticism have been published in The FADER, Pitchfork, The New Yorker, and The New York Times, amongst others. He is the author of Go Ahead In The Rain: Notes To A Tribe Called Quest and A Little Devil In America: In Praise of Black Performance.

Reviews
'Abdurraqib's writing is an antidote to the arched eyebrow of most music journalism. He writes with a sincerity that makes his subjects fallible. He writes as if music matters.' Nikesh Shukla, Observer

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
