Description

'A gripping novel and makes a fine addition to any library of World War II fiction...the tension's often almost palpable' Historical Novel Society

A page-turning and heart-breaking historical novel about the daring White Rose group who stood up to the Nazis and paid the ultimate price.

'Fans of Anthony Doerr's All the Light We Cannot See will fall under the spell of this powerfully moving novel' Booklist

'Somebody, after all, had to make a start' Sophie Scholl, leader of the White Rose, 21 February 1943 at her trial in Munich.

Munich, 1942

As war rages across Europe, a series of anonymous leaflets, criticizing the brutal Nazi regime, appear on the streets of Germany. Their message, written in secret, is a daring act of defiance.

Natalya Petrovich, a student, knows more than she should. As a member of the secret resistance group, the White Rose, Natalya is risking everything.

But even among those she trusts most, there is no guarantee of safety. The Gestapo are everywhere and Natalya knows that falling into the hands of the secret police means torture-and almost certain death.

This is an extraordinary novel of resilience and heroism during one of history's darkest times.

Praise for The Traitor

'This book was amazing. I couldn't put it down... it's a great story about resilience in the face of death and uncertainty. It's a look into another piece of history that you may not know enough about. Most importantly, it highlights the evil that plagued its time and how people overcame it and fought against it' Danielle, NetGalley

'An outstanding novel' Peter, Goodreads

'Kept me reading until wee hours in the morning' Shirley, Goodreads

'Written with characters who come alive to the reader' Jane, Goodreads

'A testimony to those that fought, struggled and died to save their country' Leanna, Goodreads

'Highly engaging... reading this novel gives some small taste of what it might be like to make such difficult, potentially life-threatening choices' Sarah-Hope, NetGalley

'This is one that I will re-read again and again and pass on to my children' Meg, Goodreads

An absolutely gripping and emotional historical novel perfect for fans of My Name is Eva

Reviews

'Highly engaging...reading this novel gives some small taste of what it might be like to make such difficult, potentially life-threatening choices and also gives an excellent overview of WWII as it was experienced in Munich' Sarah-Hope, NetGalley

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
