Description

An Amazon Charts, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal bestselling series. In this pulse-racing thriller by the New York Times bestselling author of The Last Agent, an American sleeper cell in Russia goes silent-and it's one man's duty to find them. After a harrowing escape from Russian agents on his last mission, Charles Jenkins thinks he's finally done with the spy game. But then the final two of the seven sisters-American assets who have been deep undercover in Russia for decades-cut off all communication with their handlers. Are they in hiding after detecting surveillance? Or have they turned and become double agents? It's Jenkins's duty to find out, but he's been added to a Russian kill list. It will require all of Jenkins's knowledge of spycraft-and an array of disguises-to return to the country undetected. But plans go awry his first night in Moscow when Jenkins gets involved in an altercation that ends in the death of the son of one of Russia's most powerful organized crime leaders. Pursued by mafia henchmen, Russian agents, and a particularly dogged Moscow police detective, Jenkins is determined to track down the final two sisters and get them to America-or die trying. As various forces close in, Jenkins fears this time he might've pushed his luck too far.

Reviews
"Dugoni's electrifying third espionage thriller featuring CIA agent Charles Jenkins (after 2020's The Last Agent) opens with Jenkins hanging from a hook in a meat market in Irkutsk, Russia...Many riveting, hairbreadth escapes follow as he remains intent on accomplishing his mission." -Publishers Weekly (starred review) "Dugoni, who's far too canny to set up all these chases and just wait to see who wins, keeps multiplying the competing loyalties and moral gray zones they reveal till your head spins." -Kirkus Reviews "A solid thriller...Crime-fiction fans are treated to a bogo here, two crime fighters for the price of one." -Booklist "Reviving all that was tense during the Cold War, Dugoni has fashioned a wonderful series around sleeper agents and one American's duty to protect those involved." -Mystery and Suspense Magazine "Robert Dugoni brings his Charles Jenkins trilogy to a shocking and heart-pounding end with The Silent Sisters, a final test of his protagonist's courage, intelligence, and sheer luck." -Bookreporter Praise for The Charles Jenkins Series and Robert Dugoni "[The Last Agent is] the thriller equivalent of a Matryoshka nesting doll: an outer layer of geopolitics; a deeper layer of intricate spycraft; and at its center, an unlikely alliance to save a brave Russian asset from the worst fate imaginable." -Barry Eisler, New York Times bestselling author "Fast paced and mesmerizing from start to finish. Dugoni flawlessly executes one of the best spy novels I've read in years. The Last Agent grabs you and doesn't let go-one twist and turn after the other had me tearing through the pages." -Steven Konkoly, USA Today bestselling author "The Last Agent brings Robert Dugoni's latest stellar protagonist Charles Jenkins back to the page with spectacular results...More known for his psychological and legal thrillers, [Dugoni] seems to be channeling his inner Daniel Silva, or even John le Carre, here. That's because the latest escapade in which Jenkins becomes embroiled sees him returning to his former spy haunts in Russia, literally going back into the cold as opposed to coming in from it...Espionage writing doesn't get any better than Dugoni's shrewd take on the state of U.S.-Russian relations, as he proves to be not just a literary jack of all trades, but a master of all of them." -Providence Journal "A gripping thriller...[The Eighth Sister] is destined to be a classic in the genre, and Dugoni is arguably one of the best writers in the field right now." -Associated Press "The Eighth Sister is a great mix of spycraft and classic adventure, with a map of Moscow in hand." -Martin Cruz Smith, international bestselling author "Feels so fresh and authentic we could see the story breaking in the headlines tomorrow." -Mark Sullivan, bestselling author of Beneath a Scarlet Sky "Dugoni delivers an exceptionally gripping spy thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats." -Publishers Weekly (starred review) "Dugoni is a superb storyteller..." -Boston Globe "With well-written characters, fantastic plot, surprises every time you think you know what is coming and moments that will have your heart racing as if you're the one in danger, you really can't go wrong with the Charles Jenkins series." -Looking Glass Reads "[Dugoni] has outdone himself here, serving up a double-barrelled blast of action mixed with espionage in what's perhaps his most unputdownable thriller yet...Treason, moles, and plenty of misdirection...Robert Dugoni's The Eighth Sister is a high-stakes game between spies, and he doesn't take his foot off the gas pedal for a second." -The Real Book Spy "With lean prose and spot-on local color, this plot-driven thriller pulses with tension and fraught escapes, the action capped by a courtroom drama as good as any from Grisham. A must-read for fans of legal thrillers and/or spy novels." -Library Journal (starred review) "If you've eagerly devoured [Dugoni's] previous works for their cinematic pacing, tautly written thrills, and wonderfully developed characters, you're in for all of that and so much more with [The Eighth Sister]." -Bookreporter

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
