Description

Dr Marc Neilson, his wife and friends put a protective shield around Ellie, who flies to a safe refuge in the stunning snow laden mountains of Switzerland. Romance blossoms, but others of dubious reputation are already residing in a luxurious hotel above the town of Gstaad. Marc takes his wife and pregnant friend Adriana to his uncle's lodge in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. How do the situations between the men and the women, in three dissimilar countries, relate? Through their MI6 links, the men discover chilling information. Could Ellie's abductor have anything to do with Russia's political agenda towards Estonia? Far from home, well organised help is at hand, but will the men, in their mysterious dark world, be able to keep the women safe and at the same time coordinate their operation to ensure that Russia does not, once more, walk across the Estonian border!

'I took a short trip to Estonia one winter, when the snow lay thickly on the ground. The old part of Talinn was special. The people were helpful and friendly, yet I did sense a definite atmosphere of unease caused by their Eastern neighbour. This encouraged the idea of a novel set partly in their country. I love being in the Swiss Alps where I feel safe, well looked after and secure. For me, the mountains have been a haven of peace, for quiet moments, for happiness and thought, but also for recovery from turbulent times. Hence the 'safe house' in the mountains! So once more, Switzerland must be included. Nearer home, my mother's family and I have a special affinity with the Scottish Highlands. Travelling around to research the more remote areas was the greatest of fun. I would like to thank all the people who have helped me from these three completely different, yet stunningly beautiful, parts of the world.'

About the Author
Ginny Vere Nicoll was born and brought up in England. After leaving school she attended art college, continuing to study fine art both at West Dean College and privately in Italy. She exhibited in the West End of London, before turning her hand to writing. The author has a large family and lives in a converted old barn in West Sussex. As well as writing she also paints and creates her 'Feel Good Cards'. Some of these cards relate to her book for young children, I Can Fly. Passionate about travelling, particularly across Europe, either by car, train or even on foot, Ginny takes every opportunity to collect information and material for both her books and cards. The Silence Of Snow is her fifth novel and seventh book. There is a subtle link between the novels when all the charismatic characters meet up again, revel in romance and unexpected action- packed holidays, in stunning locations. 'These last two years have been a challenge for us all' - she says. ' Writing is another life into which I disappear from the real world. My characters have become friends whom I strive to introduce to you, my hope is that you may feel the atmosphere and travel with them to both the real and imagined places. My wish is that you will experience and enjoy a genuine 'Feel Good' escape; especially in troubled times.' The author has dedicated this book, not only to her nearest and dearest, but to everybody whom has suffered, struggled and survived throughout the horrific 2020/2021 Covid 19 pandemic.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
