About the Author
LTC Robert Powell, Ph.D., is the systems management program director and course director at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He has a Ph.D. in systems engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He has written several articles on decision-making. Dennis Buede, Ph.D., is executive decision analyst, vice president, and chairman of the board at Innovative Decisions in Chantilly. He was formerly a professor at Stevens Institute of Technology and George Mason University. He has a Ph.D. and an MS in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University. He has written numerous journal articles on decision-making, as well as two books: The Engineering Design of Systems and (with co-author) Decision Synthesis: The Principles and Practice of Decision Analysis.
