About the Author
Jodie Lancet-Grant is an award-winning publishing professional and children's author. She was moved to write for children after she searched for picture books featuring LGBT+ families, to read to her twin daughters, wanting to see their family reflected back at them. Lydia Corry studied painting at the Royal College of Art. Since graduating she has followed in the footsteps of her mother Sally Gardner and devoted herself to children's books. The Pirate Mums is her debut picture book.

"Absolutely swashbuckling, climb aboard!" * Jessica Love, author and illustrator of Julian is a Mermaid *
"The rollicking story of Billy's two mums, who save the day on a school trip to the seaside, thus convincing Billy to stop longing to have a normal family... A rainbow-hued riot of sea shanties and pirate banter." * The Guardian *
"At its heart this is simply a pirate caper featuring two heroic female leads; but with its healthy sprinkling of rainbows and heartfelt message around love and acceptance, it will also be a valuable addition to any LGBTQ reading list for little ones." * Scottish BookTrust *
